Supplements and Your Health

Since our food supply is so poor in providing nutrients to our bodies, it is necessary for most of us to take supplements, in order to maintain good health. So, it is very important for all of us to educate ourselves about the various nutrients and how they function within our bodies.

We must look at our health history and the health history of our families. For example, if either one of your parents or grandparents had Alzheimer's disease, then you will be more susceptible to contracting this terrible disease. However there several herbal supplements that will help to prevent this disease.

It is important to determine which supplements you need to take. For example, if you live in the far north during the winter months you need to take vitamin D (the sunshine vitamin) because of the lack of sunlight. This will help to prevent depression.

Certain vitamins must be taken together to be effective. If you take vitamin C without vitamin P (bioflavonoids), then the vitamin C will pass right through your body. Also, vitamin C helps the B vitamins absorb properly into the body. All vitamins work synergistically together.

When it comes to vitamins it is always better to take supplements made from natural sources. You can obtain all your B vitamins by taking brewer's yeast tablets and unbleached lecithin soft gels, and the B vitamins will be in natures balance. Vitamin C and P occur together naturally in fruits and vegetables, so when you buy supplements look for the phrase: "made from natural sources" on the label or "Vitamin C with bioflavonoids".

It is also important to determine the amount (dosage) of any supplement that you are taking. You will have to do some research and experimentation to determine this for yourself. Because I live in the North and fresh fruits and vegetables are hard to come by, I take 1000mg of vitamin C twice a day. It is very important that you take any supplements with food because you need the enzymes found in the food for proper absorption of the nutrients by your digestive system.

Food Health Community

In my post of September 17th the author of that article failed to realize that when one sprays herbicides or pesticides on vegetables and fruits, that some of the poison will be absorbed into the fruit or vegetable. You cannot simply wash all of the poison off or peal it off. Another problem with processed foods is the amount of chemicals mixed in with the foods, chemicals such as MSG - which is found in most soups. MSG is a known cancer causing agent. Getting the proper amount of nutrition form foods is another problem because of the processing of all foods and the aging of fresh produce.

All of these problems can be solved or eliminated by growing the food locally. Growing food locally is good for the environment because transport by truck, fuel for cooling units, and heat for warehouses and stores will not be needed. Employment will be created within each community. The cost of food will substantially drop and there will be less problems with the food supply.

Using geodesic dome technology for growing operations in each community is the most practical and cost affective way to gain food self-sufficiency in each sustainable community. (see other posts on this blog)

The harvesting of the community "farms/gardens" can become a social function of the whole community. This can also assist in the healing and spiritual transformation of all community members.

Food and Assimilation of Nutrients

THE MOST BASIC VITAMIN NEEDED -By Cherokee Billie

Assimilation of nutrients is vital. Most foods and vitamins are not absorbed into the bloodstream; our bodies no longer contain the elements necessary for assimilation. This is due to aging, processed foods, illnesses, drug usage, and lifestyles. Most people do not assimilate their foods from the time they are children, which leads to deprivation of vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

The key to all vitamin needs is assimilation. This can best be obtained through enzymes. Enzymes must be present in the stomach and digestive tract for complete digestion of foods and supplements. Without enzymes proper assimilation does not take place. Enzymes are present in certain foods, but it is not enough for digestion.

The only way to increase enzymes in the stomach area is by supplementation. An enzyme in the form of dietary supplements is one of the best insurance’s for proper nutrition.

With proper assimilation through enzymes you can magnify the effects of other vitamins and supplements. Any vitamin you consume multiplies in strength and intensity with enzymes present in the stomach. Perhaps you have not been getting all you expected from your vitamins; the key reason could be lack of enzymes in your stomach. So start considering adding enzymes to your vitamin program.

Do you suffer with heartburn and indigestion? If so the reason could be lack of enzymes in the stomach. When enzymes are present the acid that builds up in the stomach is reduced, sometimes even neutralized. I have personally seen many people totally reverse their stomach problems with enzymes.

Your body is a living enzyme organism and you need live enzyme food that is properly digested, properly assimilated and allows waste to be properly eliminated. There are literally hundreds of thousands of enzymes active in every organ, tissue, and fluid of your body and each has its own specific function. Enzymes digest our food and convert it into substances that fortify our muscles, nerves and glands.

Enzymes assist kidneys, lungs, liver, skin and colon in their important eliminative tasks. Actually, it would be easier to list what they don't do, for they are indeed involved in every aspect of our lives. In other words, Enzymes move our muscles, stimulate our nerves, and make our hearts beat, keep us breathing and even cause us to think! • ENZYMES are catalysts • ENZYMES are required by all food to be digested • ENZYMES are destroyed by cooking and processing food • ENZYMES from an animal source are only active within the small intestine • ENZYMES from a plant source become active as soon as they enter the body • ENZYMES are needed for every chemical reaction that takes place in the body • ENZYMES are connected to every working organ in our body and run our life processes • ENZYMES are needed by vitamins and minerals to accomplish their delivery within the body • ENZYMES can prevent proteins, carbohydrates, fats from fermenting and turning rancid in your system • Purify Blood • Enhance Mental Capacity • Strengthen The Immune System • Cleanse The Colon • Break Down Fats • Enhance Sleep • Lower Cholesterol • Shed Excess Weight & Fat • Bacteria Balance in the Intestinal Tract • Improve Aging Skin

Remember Digestive Enzymes can jet propel your vitamins into more powerful action. Purchase a bottle of Digestive Enzymes and see the difference!

Foods that contain the highest amount of enzymes are: Papaya Avocado Figs

Increase your consumption of these foods to increase enzymes in your stomach. Most health food stores carry papaya tablets, these are very tasty and contain a great deal of enzymes. The ideal enzyme supplement should be complete a wide variety of enzymes.

Physical Health a Very Important Part of the Spiritual Transformation Process

EverCleanse - Get Healthy Naturally - by Carl J. Ringwall

Cleanses, homeopathic medicine and detoxification, purging parasites programs, as well as the art of ancient medicine probably dates back as long as there have been people. From basic wound care to treating abscessed teeth -- man has always sought to remedy pains and sickness with herbs and plants. Cleansing can remove mucoid plaque, and lead to better absorption of nutrients, faster transit times and removal of toxins from the body (which ultimately leads to the end of toxic diseases such as acne and leaky gut syndrome). Unlike laxatives, cleansing can induce healthy bowel movements without harmful side effects.

EverCleanse is a product for ridding the body of waste weight, which can be between 6 to 40 pounds of waste, feces and undigested food. EverCleanse provides rapid weight loss, increased energy and health. EverCleanse online is a cleansing formula made up of a patented source of soluble fibre. It helps to cleanse a persons colon of various wastes and toxins that contribute to poor digestion and bad overall health.

EverCleanse is an over the counter medicine that can either be bought from local stores or from their website. It is interesting to note that an over the counter medicine trying to over rule the other over the counter medicine and even prescribed medicines by warning its users that they should consult their physicians if they are already taking any other over the counter medicine or prescribed medicines. Evercleanse.com then provides a second stage that reintroduces healthy bacteria back into the digestive track. This will help promote a healthy digestive tract.

EverCleanse has three phases. The first step, cleaning formula is designed to produce a "clear". EverCleanse works in a three-step system to clean out the colon. The first step of the system is to sweep out the colon, also known as the large intestine.

EverCleanse program synergistically to provide everything you need to cleanse, detoxify, replenishment and maintain healthy digestion so that you can look and feel better than you ever have.

Our Food Supply

A NEW WAY OF THINKING: HEALTHY RECIPES --By Jack Dobson

The most important thing to consider when preparing healthy recipes is the quality of the ingredients you use. Always look for the freshest produce possible. Fresh fruits and vegetables begin to lose their nutritional value once they're picked, so the fresher they are, the more vitamins and minerals they contain. One of the best places to purchase ingredients is from a local farmers market. The produce tends to be much fresher than the imported produce in supermarkets and is generally less expensive. There is much discussion these days about whether it's better to use organic products than ones produced using chemicals and pesticides. Some claim that all chemicals are harmful and should never be ingested. Others claim the chemicals used are harmless if the food is washed properly before use. To add to the confusion, some chemicals used in growing fruits and vegetables have never been sufficiently tested in independent studies. Those studies that have been conducted have often resulted in conflicting conclusions. If you want to be absolutely certain your produce is free of harmful additives, it's probably best to stick with organic. However, organic products tend to be significantly more expensive than non-organic and therefore are not an option for everyone. You may want to consider purchasing organic versions of only those fruits and vegetables that are most heavily sprayed with pesticides. Nectarines, peaches, apples and strawberries tend to be the most heavily sprayed fruits, while bell peppers, celery, lettuce, spinach and potatoes are the most heavily sprayed vegetables.

With respect to choosing meat, poultry and fish, it's important to seek out the leanest and freshest products available. Trimming fat from red meat and removing skin from poultry will significantly reduce the level of fat and cholesterol in your recipes. Try to ensure that the meat and fish you purchase has not been previously frozen since there is a risk of contamination when meat is repeatedly frozen and thawed. It is sometimes possible to purchase organic meat and poultry that has been raised without the use of hormones. Again, there's much controversy about whether or not hormone-free meat is better for you. If money is not a factor, it's probably best to buy hormone-free.

Another question you'll want to consider when preparing healthy recipes is whether to use fresh or frozen ingredients. While it's generally accepted that fresh produce is healthier than frozen, that is not always the case. In many instances, fruits and vegetables are frozen very shortly after they're picked, locking in the freshness and vitamins. Fresh produce, on the other hand, may take days to arrive on your supermarket shelves, losing more and more nutritional value the longer it sits.

Once you've located some favorite healthy recipes, either in cookbooks or on the internet, you can modify or adapt them to suit your particular tastes. Substituting ingredients or adding additional seasonings can turn an ordinary dish into something special. You may even want to create your own original healthy recipes by using fresh seasonal ingredients and experimenting with various flavor combinations. Once you know how to pick the healthiest and most flavorful ingredients, creating healthy recipes is a snap.

Today, it's easier than ever to prepare healthy food for you and your family. Recipe websites abound on the internet and it's possible to find unique, healthy recipes for just about any food on the planet. In addition, many recipe sites include features such as nutritional information for each recipe and special categories for low-fat or low-calorie foods, making it easy for those seeking nutritionally-conscious, healthy recipes to locate them quickly.

Worldwide Geodesic Dome Food Production

There is no size limit for geodesic domes. The larger the dome the stronger it becomes, because its weight is distributed evenly throughout the whole structure and because geodesic dome construction is based on tension (natures way of structuring) - not on compression. This would enable the community members to erect geodesic domes over very large tracts of land.

It would be very easy and economical to create various climates within these domes for growing various foods. This is because geodesic domes are very energy efficient on their own - for example: geodesic domes can cool themselves by placing vents in strategic places within the dome; this is known as the Bernoulli effect.

All communities on our planet could become self-sufficient in food production - this applies to communities in the far north and far south. We would have year round growing seasons on the entire planet. Starvation and malnutrition would be eliminated worldwide.

By using geodesic dome technology food production costs would be cut by eighty percent. People would enjoy good health by having fresh food everyday. Jobs would be created in every community. The environment would benefit because it would no longer be necessary to transport foods long distances and organic growing processes would be used.

Everyone in the community could harvest their own food, which would promote personal healing (feelings of accomplishment and self worth), provide exercise for a few hours each week, and give each community member social contact with other community members.

Interconnectedness of All Things

Kabbalah and Science: A Journey With The Same Destination

By Bnei Baruch

Both ancient and modern science have proposed theories based on the interconnectedness of all of nature. Kabbalah also talks about the unity of Nature, but tells us that man has lost contact with that reality. A world of harmony is waiting for us if we can only reconnect.

Empedocles, a pre-Socratic philosopher who lived in Greece in 490-430 BC, had a very interesting theory: he proposed powers called Love and Strife that act as forces to bring about the mixture and separation of elements. In fact, in this theory he grasped the essence of what animates nature: attraction and repulsion. These forces control everything in the universe, from the most simple and basic movements to the most complex ones such as electrons in sub-nuclear levels or even the behavior of men.

If we transfer this theory to quantum physics, which is concluding that every little thing in the Universe is connected, we can infer that there is a force that unites everything, and this force can be called "love." In Kabbalah, the force that connects, attracts and unites is called bestowal or altruism. Everything that exists in nature works under this law or force. The sun, for example, makes life possible with its heat and light; the moon dictates the tides; the grass grows without sacrifice to feed animals. Everything has its purpose and everything lives in perfect harmony for the sake of the whole. When a lion eats a deer, the deer doesn't think the lion is cruel, nor does the lion feel guilt for hurting the deer. Both act without question according to their inherent nature, and as a result, the ecosystem stays in balance. If everything is so perfect why is there so much suffering on Earth? All the suffering is created by us, human beings. While nature works in bestowal or altruism (the force that connects everything), men work in egoism (the force that separates everything). Therefore, we have two opposite forces running together in the same place: nature is trying to connect and we are trying to separate. This antagonism causes pain and suffering. Kabbalah teaches that the source of this suffering is the egoism that acts in this world as a force of repulsion. In nature, everything takes only what it needs for survival and passes everything else on for others. In this way, harmony is maintained and there is enough for all. On the other hand, we function egoistically, thinking only about self benefit. We want more and more of everything, not caring about the impact on the whole. As a result, we have wars, famine, diseases, violence, and the resultant suffering. How can we change the way we understand this world in order to avoid this 'repulsion' we are experiencing these days? We first have to change our perception of reality. Have you ever seen the Magic Eye 3D puzzles? At first glance, these look like colorful repeating patterns of dots. If you let your eyes go out of focus, however, a three dimensional picture pops out. Nothing has changed but the perspective of the viewer.

Kabbalists tell us that the same happens with our world. When we operate based on our egoistic nature, we perceive a world filled with suffering. If we change our human nature to operate on nature's altruistic programming, then the picture we perceive will be completely different. We will see how our actions affect everyone else on the planet, and we will care more for their well being than for our own. With this new perspective, we will make different choices on how to live.

This sounds wonderful in theory, but is it realistic? Science has already come to the conclusion that everything in the universe is interconnected, but can we realize this same connection on a personal and social level? Kabbalah provides us with a methodology to attain this state of connection and bestowal. In doing so, we will finally be able to understand the true purpose of our lives. We will merge with the force Empedocles called "Love," and "Strife" will disappear.

Geodesic Domes and Food Self-Sufficiency

I live in Fort Simpson, which is located in the Northwest Territories of Canada. If you look at a map of Canada, you will find the Territories are located above the 60th parallel.

The bush lands of the North have a very deep and rich soil. In fact all the land from a little north of Fort Simpson to a little south of the 60th parallel (a vast area) has been classified as A-1 prime farm land by the Federal Government of Canada. In the past, there have been some very successful farming operations in the NWT. However, because of the very short growing season, there has been very little exploitation of the land in this area for the purpose of farming. Also in the past there have been large greenhouse operations in the north, but this has proven to be a very expensive way to extend the growing season.

It can be demonstrated that the use of geodesic dome technology would be a very cost effective way to extend the growing season. There are 15 very good reasons why it would be ideal to use geodesic dome technology for the

purpose of food production. These reasons can be found in; "Critical Path" by R. Buckminster Fuller on pages 209 to 213. I will present four of them here:

"If in producing the geodesic domes-within-domes we make them transparent or translucent on their sunny side and opaque and inwardly reflecting on the non-sunny side, they will entrap progressively greater amounts of Sun energy as heat for longer and greater periods of time as the diameters are increased."

"If growing vegetation--i.e., trees, vegetables, corn, sugar, ground cover, etc. --is planted within the dome, the photosynthetic conversion of Sun radiation into hydrocarbon molecules will chemically and simultaneously:

--convert the monoxide gases given off by human occupants into human-supporting (air) atmosphere, thus eliminating all necessity for windows or air conditioning apparatus, and

--harvest hydrocarbon molecule-trapped energy as food or as fuel-alcohol energy."

"Sum-totally it is now demonstrable that properly designed domes with in domes become energy-harvesting machines that provide more energy than is needed for the high-standard life support of their human occupants, wherefore such dwelling machines may become exporters of energy in variously stored and controlled forms, such as alcohol."

"World Game's design science treats the tensegrity-structured, dome-within-dome geodesic environment controls as comprehensive energy-harvesting, -storing, and -exchanging devices. Typically, the vegetation most efficiently employed includes the growth of corn and the "winged bean" in the sun light area and mushrooms in the hot, dark areas."

Going Green

RESEARCH ANALYST --By Laurie Haynes

Things to watch out for before "Going Green":

Having an eco-friendly environment is not an easy task, so before you start buying green cleaning products and studying ways to reduce your carbon footprint make sure to consider these very important green living tips.

Global Warming is a topic mentioned all over the news and in the papers, it is causing the movement where we have to change our ways of thinking about recycling plastic products and waste management.

Taking cold showers and turning off lights may not make much difference when it comes to a global crisis of damage to the planet and the oceans reserves. Before you start reusing your cloth bags to carry your groceries or recycling used water bottles think about how more is needed to get the earth to a place where it will start producing clean air and pure water and rich unpolluted landfills.

So when you go to buy some organic produce or refill another ink cartridge think about the whole picture and how this really is going to affect our global family.

All of that green living advice goes out the window if we are not considering, if the fuel in our cars is putting out polluting vehicle emissions, try using bio-diesel it is a renewable fuel, carbon dioxide neutral, low sulphur, non-toxic, biodegradable, fuel that reduces emissions. After considering all the facts it is a responsible choice to help save our planet by "Going Green."

The future of our planet is in the hands of the children so when we teach our children how to recycle and how to look for ways to keep the planet clean, we are investing in a better future, one that can sustain itself from constant wear. Establish good habits that can be carried out from generation to generation to come.

Energy and Sustainable Community.

Want to Reduce Your Electricity Bill Up to 80% While Helping the Planet? Learn More by Regan Edwards

Electricity is one of those bills that I dread getting every month. I can shut off all the lights keeping everything to a minimum but still my bill is astronomical. There are tons of ways to save on energy costs but unfortunately I don't have an extra thousand dollars kicking around to get me set up.

Sure there are the little ways like shutting off the lights, keeping the heat down, and turning the AC off. But most things that I use are unavoidable; I have to run the dishwasher everyday, do the two loads of laundry sitting in the basket, and not to mention all the appliances that need to be on.

I have been doing some research on saving energy ever since the big blackout a couple years back. I'm sure you remember that, I lost two freezers full of meat, sure we had a big bbq but that did not change the fact that I had to dump $500 worth of food in the garbage.

Switching to a renewable energy source seemed like the only way to go. With power consumption sky rocketing it is a very practical solution. How many times a year does the power go off where you live? This summer alone our power has been off 10 times, twice it took almost 24 hours to come back on. That's a LONG time, especially when you have kids that can't grasp the concept quite yet.

How do you go about getting renewable energy?? There are three forms of energy that I can think of off the top of my head, solar, wind and water. Most people are aware these resources exist but how to we use them to help us save on energy costs?

A man named Michael Harvey published a step-by-step guide that shows how to harvest the energy from solar or wind power to help reduce or even eliminate your electrical bill. He explains everything from how solar and wind power work, to storing your own energy in a home made generator. This process can work so well that the electrical companies will even pay you to use the energy that you have stored.

The world has become such an expensive place to live and no longer as predictable as it once was. What would happen if we had another blackout but this time it lasted longer then before? Would you be ready for it? This guide helps us not only prepare for such an event it helps the planet by using a renewable source of energy.

If everyone started using a renewable source of energy we could drastically help our planet and our wallets. If you would like to find out how to start using a renewable source of energy to power your home please visit Earth 4 Energy.

Food for Thought and Geodesic Domes

We must change our way of thinking and our ways of doing things; if we want to avoid these two possible outcomes: Our planet Earth will not survive or the environment would be so degraded, that everyone's quality of life would be very poor.

The economies of scale, which are running the world today, are no longer working properly. The environment is rapidly degrading and the people of the world are becoming over specialized - so that when vast changes do take place, the people will not be able to adapt, as the dinosaurs were unable to adapt to the vast climate changes that took place thousands of years ago.

"….each individual human is born physically and metaphysically equipped to function as a natural comprehensivist, with a unique mind designed to ascertain and comprehend the generalized principles governing interrelationships." --R.B. Fuller

If you look at and analyze the food industry in North America, then you will realize what we are up against in other areas of our lives. The corporate farms do not rotate crops, thus soils are becoming depleted. Pesticides, herbicides and fungicides are being over used. Fertilization chemicals are also heavily used. After most foods are harvested they are super processed. Preservatives, colouring agents, thickeners, and a host of other chemicals such as: MSG, sodium nitrite and sodium nitrate, benzene, aluminum sulfate, and formaldehyde - to name a few of the cancer causing and poisonous substances found in our foods. Most fruits and vegetables are picked when they are still very "green" - not at all ripe - then they are transported for long distances and have been sitting for long periods of time in trucks and warehouses. And when we finally get them into our kitchens we tend to over cook the vegetables - so most of the nutrients are gone, but the harmful chemicals remain.

Foods are also wrapped in plastic and aluminum. Plastics leach dioxins into the food and aluminum IS connected to Alzheimer's disease. Children do not want to eat their vegetables because they taste bad. Store bought carrots are bitter and harsh tasting when compared to the sweet taste of fresh carrots right out of the garden.

If we were to use geodesic dome technologies to grow all of our food in each community, then we could avoid all of the above. Each community would have its own fresh supply of food. This would create local employment and the community members would spend a lot less on food and be much healthier. Community members could harvest their own fresh food as needed. Families and community members could work together and make harvesting a social affair. Gardening and growing things can have a healing benefit as well. Working together and helping one another will help to unify all community members.
