Information on Herb Benefits

By Mia Green

Aside from the fact that Herbs add more flavor to food, there are recognized health benefits that herbs could give the body. Since ancient times, it's been demonstrated that herbs genuinely have health benefits and as contemporary medicines were not available in those times, herbs were regarded as a good remedy for every health problem.

Herb garden kits offer a vast assortment of herbs categorized into different groups such as Italian herbs, culinary herbs, international herbs, German herbs, herbal tea herbs and salsa herbs. Simply choose the one that fits you best and you are on your way. Sometimes it is hard to separate the truth about these claims from the hype. Surely, herbs must have many healthful benefits, but can all these claims be true? And specifically, how can herbs benefit those who suffer from depression or anxiety.

Medicinal herbs found in quality herbal skin care products are derived from plants. Pure and natural ingredients which have been clinically tested and proven to work.

Herbs In Medicine Today: The arrogance of this position is revealed by the fact that most of the medicines today are mere chemical compounds extracted or duplicated from the active ingredients of the herbs.

Herbs can enhance your landscape. They can be quite beautiful simply growing on their own. But, can also spruce up your flower garden or be used as ornamental plants along walkways, driveways or steps. They add accent just about anywhere.

Have you seen the number of herbal teas at the grocery store? There are dozens of different kinds. Everything from chamomile to ginger to mint, if you are looking for an herbal tea, you can find it. If you had an herb garden of your own and you love tea, you can save yourself a little money.

Herbs/Herbal Supplements are a blend of herbs known to affect mood and the body systems in a positive way. Herbs are combined with vitamins, minerals, and other nutritional substances into a formula that will provide the greatest possible benefits to the consumer.

Most of the herbal products are used for their nutritional value. Some of the herbs like rosemary, garlic, and even cayenne you may associate with cooking, but these plants also have medicinal properties.

Herbs can be consumed in the form of dried herbs, essential oils, teas and tinctures. Herbs are classified into four types. They are Tonics, Specific, Heroics and cleansers or protectors.

Common benefits of herbs, vitamins and minerals include:

Increased energy Alternative to traditional medicine Healing properties for various symptoms Stronger immune system More alert mental capacity

Basil herb benefits body by increasing its resistance and developing strong immunity system. While many of the benefits have immediate effect and are evident clearly, some of the benefits show in long run when the body's natural process of healing and health improves gradually.

The turmeric herb benefits for viral, fungal and bacterial infections have been known for thousands of years. It is one of the plants that was and is a component of traditional Indian medicine, known as Ayurvedic medicine.

You can improve your health by giving your body the freshest herbs possible. Freshly picked herbs are ideal because this is the time when the vitamin and mineral contents are the highest. You can use them in your cooking or sprinkled on your salads.

The Light Bulb and the Light

By Nigel Coates

When writing of spiritual development, it helps to find simple analogies to give perspective to deeper esoteric principals. With that in mind, I ask you to please consider the humble light bulb.

In essence there are two forms working together. The physical structure that gives it a real world presence and the energetic component of light. An outer shell - and an inner life force. Sound familiar?

Let's explore the concept further. In the beginning there was only one design of light bulb. As society has advanced in technology and scope, newer designs are now available, and are proving to be advantageous. (Whether they direct light in a more efficient way, are more economic to run, or simply last longer.) The light bulb as a physical structure is continuing to evolve and grow for our betterment.

But a light bulb by itself serves no purpose. It only provides benefit when it comes to life. When a light bulb is filled with light, it can radiate its energy to the world around it. For this to happen, the bulb first needs to connect with something greater than itself. It uses the electricity grid to reach a source of power.

Now let's bring this comparison full circle - human beings and spirit. Our bodies are the outer shell and our life force radiates to the world around us. We are here to make the world a better place, but can do so in our own unique ways.

Some, with a great connection to the source may stand tall and shine brightly, lighting the lives of many. While others may spend their time exploring the deep shadows and focus their light on the path of someone who really needs a hand.

We all have physical bodies, of varied design and stage of evolution. We all have a life force, or energy, that we use to direct our efforts. Understanding they are two distinctively different forms' working as one gives greater understanding to our time here on Earth.

We are told to eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly for a healthy body. It is not as common to discuss what do to for a healthy spirit. Meditation is an ancient technique for tapping into a greater power, giving perspective to our existence, and allowing us to live each day as a light for others.

Guided meditation is the simplest way to experience these sensations, as the guide takes you through the process step by step to achieve your goals.

Do all you can for your physical health, and do all you can to shine brightly.

Joy Is The Only Game in Town

By Meg Colby

Joy is the operative word. Allow the joy of your life to be the first and foremost feeling you are experiencing.

You might stop a moment and ask where is MY joy? Why do I not feel it?

Maybe you don't feel it because you don't really know what it feels like and don't realize that it's there waiting for you to acknowledge it. Joy stands behind the curtain waiting to be recognized. Joy is quiet. Joy doesn't parade itself and ask to be noticed. Joy simply is.

One of the reasons it's so hard to notice joy is because you're so busy noticing all the little misfortunes and disagreeable minutiae of your life. Joy waits for you to realize that these things really mean nothing. They're small stones on the path of life. They're not boulders blocking your way. They're not hindrances on your path to joy. But that's how you view them. A little rock on your path becomes, in your mind, a large obstacle. And while that obstacle is taking your attention, joy waits. And when the next obstacle appears, joy simply smiles and waits some more.

Joy says, I will wait till you are finished with that and can, once again, feel me. Joy says, I will stand off to the side waiting for you to notice that I am here. Joy says that where you are in your life right now is exactly where you have chosen to be - whether you remember choosing it or not. Joy says that if you focus on the obstacles in your life, you notice the obstacles. And if you focus on me, you notice me.

Yes, there is temporary pain in life. We've all felt it. But it is temporary - no matter how devastating it feels in the moment - it is temporary. Joy is permanent.

And you ask how do I find this joy? And joy says, you don't have to find me. I am simply here. All you have to do is to allow your attention to rest on me. I am yours. Joy says, when you see a sunset, when you feel a raindrop, when a gentle breeze touches your face, when you hear a piece of music that sends your heart soaring, I am with you.

Remember how I feel. Then you will know how to find me again.

I am quiet. I am peaceful. I am always available. I bring a slight smile to your face. I might even bring tears to your eyes if you are not used to how I feel. Joy says that in the day to day difficulties of your life, I am always there. Look for me behind the anger. Look for me behind the sadness. Look for me behind the grief. I am still there. I will never fade. The other feelings will but I will not.

When they are gone, I am here. They are temporary. I am permanent.

I don't look or feel like what you've been taught. I am quiet. I am peaceful. I live in your heart and you can feel me when you quiet yourself. I am solid. I am consistent. I am continuous. I am here. I await your return. Your recognition of me enlivens me. And so it is.
