Sitting In The Boat by Tiger

For years I sat in the boat waiting for the waves and wind to calm.

I spent those years trying to figure out my path. At the time, it was a traditional Christian path. I went from Biblical Fundamentalist to Moderate; from Moderate to Liberal; from Liberal to Heretical, all the while continually tweaking my theology until it was right.

Only then would I step out of the boat.

Except it never was right. So I sat and sat, waiting and waiting, trying to figure it all out. Then one day, the sun broke through the clouds. That glimpse of a ray of light was all it took.

I stood up and stepped out of the boat. And I did it without knowing what the path was.

I had gone from someone who thought he was certain to someone who didn't have a clue. From Fundamentalist Christian to...whatever I am now...Christian Taoist? Buddhist? Pagan?

Or maybe just Human.

Nowadays I think little about theology. I meditate, pray, read, and mostly...pay attention. I walk and watch nature, always looking and listening to see what I can learn. Everything looks different, but I know now that's because I have different eyes.

I have plenty of knowledge. I'm working on the wisdom.
