Bamboo clothing is one of the newer types of organic clothing on offer. It looks and feels nothing like the bamboo plant, of course. Instead it has a lovely, silky texture that feels soft and comfortable against the skin. And you needn't worry that by purchasing bamboo clothing you could be taking food from the panda bear, because the bamboo that clothing is made from is another variety, not eaten by pandas at all

Moso bamboo – that is used for clothing - grows quickly, uses little water and needs no fertilizer so it is the ideal plant for saving the earth's resources. Compare this to cotton production that requires 29,000 litres of water to manufacture 1 kg of fabric - not to mention all the pesticides that are used.

Bamboo clothing is simply ideal for those with sensitive skins too. It has natural anti-bacterial properties, so that there is less odour when used for sports clothes. It is anti-fungal and hypoallergenic, so those with sensitive skins or anyone who is allergic can wear it with confidence. Bamboo fabric absorbs perspiration and wicks it away from your skin much better than cotton. Added to that, it absorbs 98% of ultra violet light from the sun, so it will certainly protect your body from harmful rays. The dyes used in bamboo clothing are vegetable dyes or low impact dyes that do not harm the skin or the environment.

Bamboo can be grown anywhere in the world using geodesic dome-within-dome green house technology. This would start an independent clothing industry in each community.
